Tongyeong City, Gyeongnam, released 6.75 million juvenile pollock into the Juklim area of Gwangdo Island on the 9th, with the participation of 50 fishermen and members of the Tongyeong City Association of Fisheries Business Managers. Pollock, a winter delicacy, is a high-protein, low-fat food with tender flesh and little fishy smell, rich in taurine and essential amino acids, effective for improving liver function and recovery from fatigue. Starting with this release event, Tongyeong City plans to continuously promote the release of aquatic seedlings (project cost 550 million won, including seven species besides black sea bass) to create a sustainable fishery resource base and secure fishery income.
