In 2021, Vietnam's seafood exports saw growth in many markets, with the US being the largest import market. The EU, South Korea, Australia, and other countries also experienced positive growth in seafood imports from Vietnam. However, imports from Japan and China decreased. The increase in imports from markets participating in Free Trade Agreements with Vietnam, such as Australia, allowed importers to benefit from preferential tariffs. Australia's imports of Vietnamese seafood, including shrimp, pangasius, squid, octopus, and tuna, saw over 16% growth, with pangasius exports to Australia experiencing a 21% decrease.
