With the entry into force of the individual cattle traceability system since last January 1st, which requires ranchers to identify all calves with an electronic caravan at the time of weaning or before the first movement, it is now the turn of the slaughterhouses to adapt their internal processes to these new demands, to avoid wasting that effort. The initial step of that process came with the publication of resolution 40/2026 at the end of January, from which a renewed Integrated Slaughter System (SIF) was implemented that included the elimination of the annoying violet stamps on half-carcasses, switching to the use of labels instead.
