In the first quarter of 2021, São Paulo's agribusiness experienced a 7.5% increase in exports, reaching US $ 3.87 billion, and a 7% decrease in imports, totaling US $ 1.20 billion, resulting in a surplus of US $ 2.67 billion. However, the trade deficit increased by 14% due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the competitiveness and industrial activity of the state. The main exports included the Sugar and Alcohol Complex, Meat, Soy Complex, Juices, and Forest Products, with China being the main destination. Brazil's trade balance showed a positive balance of US $ 7.91 billion, with agribusiness exports increasing by 11.9%, contributing to a surplus of US $ 19.67 billion.
