Despite the quarantine, fisheries in Kyrgyzstan, located an hour from the capital, are seeing an increase in production. These fisheries are raising trout in spring water and selling it not only in the local market but also in EAEU countries, particularly Russia. The process of growing fish is slow, and a new batch is launched as soon as the previous one is harvested. The fish are fed twice a day and are grown in pure spring water. The shelf life of chilled fish is 10-12 days, while frozen fish can last up to 10 months. Last year, 180 tons of trout were sold.
