Trout milking has begun in facilities with a capacity of thousands of tons in Van.

In Van, where approximately 2,550 tons of trout are produced annually at facilities, milking operations covering the winter months have begun to obtain fry. In the districts of Gürpınar, Çatak, Erciş, Muradiye, Bahçesaray, and Gevaş in Van, 11 trout production facilities established in streams and dams produce approximately 55 million fry annually. During the milking period, which includes the months of December, January, and February, teams from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry Fisheries and Aquatic Products Branch are actively working in the field. The teams participate in the milking of trout at the facilities, providing both theoretical and practical information to the producers.
