The U.S. president, Donald Trump, affirmed that his country continues to maintain conversations with the European Union (EU) to achieve a trade agreement before August 1st and that there are "advances," while at the same time reminding that, if there is no agreement, Washington has already decided to impose a 30% tariff on the Twenty-Seven. "We are talking with the EU and we are making progress. But, the truth is, we already have an agreement with the EU. It is called the letter that was sent," Trump said to journalists before departing for Pennsylvania, referring to the missive he sent to European negotiators last Saturday.
