Vietnam's tuna export value in October 2023 was nearly equivalent to the same period last year, marking a positive trend. Cumulatively, tuna exports for the first 10 months of the year decreased by 22% compared to 2022. However, exports of processed and canned tuna products increased, with notable growth seen in frozen steamed tuna loin and canned tuna. There were signs of recovery in major markets such as the US, Canada, Chile, the Philippines, and South Korea, while exports to the EU continued to decline, except for a significant increase in tuna exports to Italy. Overall, Vietnam's tuna exports are expected to return to 2022 levels in the next two months.
