Vietnam's tuna exports to Canada have shown a remarkable increase in the early months of 2024, with a notable 146% rise in February alone, culminating in nearly 5.5 million USD - a 68% increase from the same period in 2023. This growth is primarily in frozen tuna meat/loin and canned tuna, witnessing a 150% and 25% increase in exports, respectively. Despite a significant drop in 2023 due to decreased seafood consumption in Canada, the market is rebounding, buoyed by predictions of rising seafood demand in the coming five years. Vietnam now stands as the third-largest tuna supplier to Canada, trailing behind Thailand and Italy.
