The report by the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Import and Export Department reveals a significant growth in Turkey's agricultural market, with tea imports surging by 11.5% annually from 2016 to 2020, peaking at 23,680 tons in 2020. The total value of these imports was nearly 49.7 million USD, with Sri Lanka being the primary supplier (72.1% of the total) followed by Kenya, India, and Argentina. Vietnam's share increased slightly to 1.6%, contributing 370 tons valued at 756,000 USD, marking a notable increase from 2019. The majority of the imports were black tea, with a 14.2% increase from the previous year, while green tea imports saw a significant rise from 2019, mainly from China and Vietnam.
