Turkey's olive harvest in 2024 yielded 3.6 million tons, with 750,000 tons being table olives, making it the world's largest producer of table olives and the second largest producer of olive oil. The country has seen a 157% increase in olive oil production, reaching 475,000 tons, and is aiming to capture 10% of the US market, which imports $4 billion worth of olives and olive oil annually. The EU has imported less olive oil from third countries in the 2024/2025 season due to increased production within the EU, particularly from Spain.
