Turkey Predicts Decline in Grain Production

According to estimates by the Turkish Statistical Institute, which publishes data collected by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, grain production in Turkey in 2025 will decrease by 4.1% to 37.4 million tons compared to 2024. In the first crop production estimate for 2025, published on May 23, wheat production in Turkey was estimated at 19.6 million tons, which is 5.8% less than the previous year. Other main grain crops expected to see a decline include barley (7.5 million tons, a decrease of 8%), rye (243,000 tons, a decrease of 5.5%), and oats (300,000 tons, a decrease of 23.1%).
