In 2021, Turkey's tomato exports reached $729 million, a 20% increase from the previous year, with a goal of $1 billion by 2023. The country ranks among the world's leading tomato producers, with 14 million tons annually. The exports include fresh tomatoes, tomato paste, dried tomatoes, peeled tomatoes, tomato sauces and ketchup, frozen tomatoes, and tomato juice. Russia is the primary market for fresh tomatoes, while Iraq leads in tomato paste demand. The current quota imposed by Russia on fresh tomato exports is expected to negatively impact exports, but there is hope for removal and increased exports.
