Turkey's 11-month anchovy exports exceeded $13.5 million

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Association, told AA correspondent that 2,717 tons of anchovies were exported to 20 countries in 11 months. Kalyoncu emphasized that 13 million 548 thousand 674 dollars were earned from the export in question, and stated that this figure increased by 10 percent in quantity and 11 percent in value compared to the same period of the previous year, when 12 million 202 thousand 980 dollars were earned for 2 thousand 479 tons. Kalyoncu stated that France, Belgium and the USA were the 3 countries to which the most anchovies were exported, and said, "4 million 856 thousand 366 dollars worth of anchovies were sold to France, 3 million 986 thousand 641 dollars worth of anchovies to Belgium and 1 million 230 thousand 14 dollars worth of anchovies were sold to the USA from Turkey in 11 months of the year."
