These institutes have developed and registered new banana varieties, contributing to a significant increase in their domestic production, which now accounts for about 75% of the country's annual need. The article also notes a notable rise in banana exports and a decrease in imports over the years, with Georgia, Syria, France, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus being the primary export destinations.
