The Turkish Pasta Industrialists Association is optimistic about the potential reopening of the American market for Turkish pasta, with some companies successfully challenging anti-dumping laws. The association, which has a production capacity of 3 million tons, is confident of reaching an export target of 1.5 million tons this year. Turkey, being the gene center for durum wheat, enjoys a competitive edge in pasta production. The country exports pasta to 166 countries and has received positive discrimination in the European Union, despite facing anti-dumping duties in the USA. The pasta sector also has a positive impact on the livestock sector by selling the bran to feed factories. Turkish pasta is praised for its affordability and nutritional value.
