Turkey, the world's second largest producer of honey after China, exported 7,137 tons of honey in the first nine months of the year, generating a profit of $23.4 million. The United States was the top export destination, accounting for $9.9 million in sales. Despite a low honey yield due to a dry spring and summer, the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association aims to close the year with an export potential of around $35 million and plans to increase exports by promoting Turkish honey as a reputable brand in international markets.
