In the 2023/24 season, Turkey, a global leader in Sultani seedless raisin production and export, saw a slight decline in export volume from 157 thousand tons to 152.5 thousand tons compared to the previous season. Despite this, the export value surged by 25 percent, from 265 million dollars to 333 million dollars, attributed to high inflation and reduced yield in Turkey, which raised the average export price. The country aims to boost its exports beyond 200 thousand tons and achieve 500 million dollars in foreign exchange earnings by the season's end. Notably, exports to England, Australia, Japan, and Canada increased significantly, whereas exports to China dropped markedly. Over the past 30 years, Turkey's investment in viticulture has notably enhanced its seedless raisin yield and export capabilities, with plans to further increase export value in the coming years.
