During the 2023/24 season, Turkey's olive oil sector faced challenges but managed to export 70,750 tons of olive oil, earning $506 million despite restrictions. The total income from the olive sector, including pomace oil and table olives, was $765 million, an 18% drop from the previous season. The average export price increased by 54% to $7.16 per dollar, offsetting a 52% decrease in export quantity. The USA was the top importer, with Spain and Italy following. The sector aims to export 200,000 tons in the 2024/25 season, positioning Turkey as the second-largest producer globally after Spain, with growth in markets like Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Russia.
