The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) has reported that Turkey is once again the world champion in wheat flour exports, having shipped 3.5 million tons to 164 countries in the past year. The country's grain and pulse exports have seen a 6.9% increase in the first half of the year, reaching $5.9 billion. The most significant exports were to Iraq and the USA. Despite the increased global grain supply and decreased money supply, Turkey is implementing a balanced trade policy and expects to find affordable wheat prices for its food sectors when imports are allowed again. Turkey has no foreign trade deficit in the field of grains and pulses and is a major exporter of various value-added products, generating nearly $12.5 billion from the total foreign trade of the sector annually.
