Turkey is the world leader in the production and export of seedless raisins, with a total export of $490 million in the 2023/24 season, marking an 11% increase from the previous season. The country aims to contribute 20% to the worldwide seedless raisin harvest of 1,157,000 tons, with an anticipated production of 236,000 tons. The 64th International Seedless Raisin Producing Countries Conference was held in Paris, with representatives from various producing countries discussing export targets and market trends. Turkey's export goal for the year is 176,000 tons, which would account for 30% of the total worldwide raisin exports. The conference also addressed the overall increase in grape supply and a significant decrease in starting stocks, despite a slight increase in golden grape production and a decrease in total currants due to low carryover stocks.
