In the first half of 2020, Peru experienced a notable decline in turmeric exports, with a significant drop from 580,549 kilos valued at $1,219,221 in H1 2019 to 352,661 kilos worth $612,919 in H1 2020. The Netherlands emerged as the primary market, receiving 54% of the exports, followed by Canada, Chile, and the Dominican Republic, each with an 8% share. Other destination countries included Argentina, Spain, Belgium, and more. Notable exporters included JCH Agroexportaciones SAC, Agromix Industrial SAC, Grupo Estela SAC, Nativa Organics SAC, and Eurofresh Perú SAC, contributing 25%, 9%, 7%, 5%, and 4% to the total exports, respectively.
