A partnership between the Wando-gun Agricultural Technology Center and the Wando-gun branch of the Agricultural Federation has led to the establishment of a 2,000㎡ banana facility in Wando, South Korea. The aim is to promote the banana income business and take advantage of the region's warmer winter temperatures suitable for subtropical crop cultivation. In October, 450 banana seedlings were planted, and these bananas will be managed at 22℃ even in winter, ready for harvest next October. These eco-friendly, locally grown bananas are expected to be competitive despite their higher price due to their freshness and safety, compared to imported bananas which often require drug processing due to long transportation times.
