UK pork exports in July reached 29,600 tonnes, a 5% increase from June and a 4% increase year-to-date, with all major product categories experiencing growth. Despite a decrease in exports to China, the global market is rebalancing with the EU absorbing China's lost trade and the Philippines increasing its share of UK exports. Pork imports into the UK have grown by 19% year on year, driven by bacon and sausage categories. Domestic pork production is forecasted to decline by 6% by the end of 2022, potentially leading to lower imports due to the weakening pound and the cost-of-living crisis.
