The Bushyn salt deposit in Ukraine's Zakarpattia Oblast is not working at full capacity, forcing the country to buy technical salt from African countries at a higher cost. The deposit has faced challenges in its development, with problems arising from the professional level of workers and geospatial intelligence, as well as the need for infrastructure such as concrete mines and tunnels. Despite the higher cost, the head of Zakarpattia OVA emphasized that the quality of the Transcarpathian salt from the Bushtyn deposit is significantly higher than African salt and can cover the needs of the west and center of Ukraine.
