In 2023, Ukraine saw a significant increase in turkey meat exports, reaching 6 thousand tons, a 50% rise from the previous year and a tenfold increase from 2021. This surge in exports, coupled with a decrease in imports, has aided in the recovery of domestic production, which grew by 6.5% compared to 2022. Despite this, production volumes remain below pre-war levels. The drop in domestic demand has prompted producers to target foreign markets, transforming Ukraine from a turkey meat importer to an exporter. The removal of import duties and quotas by the European Union is anticipated to further stimulate Ukraine's turkey market.
