The buckwheat harvest in Ukraine in 2025 is 15% lower than the previous year, which is not a problem for the domestic market but will lead to rising prices due to high demand. This was stated by the director of the "Flour Mills of Ukraine" union, Rodion Rybchinsky, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine. "As far as I understand, this year the buckwheat harvest is already 15% lower than last year. The issue of its availability should be addressed not to the processors, but to the agribusiness farmers who decide what to sow—sunflower, soybeans, rapeseed, or buckwheat, which yields 1.3-1.5 tons/ha, to then sell it for 20 thousand UAH per ton," emphasized the expert.
