In the first half of 2021, Ukraine managed to open 11 new export markets for its producers, a decrease by one compared to the previous year, according to Vladislava Magaletskaya, the head of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection. The country is currently focusing on markets in the European Union, Asia, and Africa, with plans to open around 100 more. So far, markets in Lithuania, Japan, Argentina, Libya, Kuwait, Serbia, Ethiopia, Slovakia, Jordan, and Kuwait have been opened for various products including milk and dairy, processed animal protein, table eggs, arachnids, and small cattle. Additionally, Ukraine has approved 63 certificates for products of animal origin and signed an agreement with Northern Macedonia on quarantine and plant protection to boost trade.
