Ukraine has seen a significant increase in blueberry exports, with an annual growth rate of 21% over the past five years, reaching approximately 530 tons per year. This growth continues despite military actions and Russian invasion, with exports increasing by 1.1 thousand tons in 2022 and 940 tons in 2023. Ukraine currently ranks among the top three countries with the fastest growing blueberry export rates, following Georgia and Zimbabwe. The global blueberry market is expected to continue to grow due to increasing demand. Peru remains the leader in blueberry exports, accounting for 30-32% of the market, excluding re-exports. However, Ukraine's growth in blueberry exports is not without challenges, as Spain is calling for limits on grain imports from Ukraine, and Polish farmers are preparing a protest against Ukrainian raspberries.
