By 2025, the production of currants in Ukraine has almost stabilized, having declined by 6-7% annually since 2022. This was reported by analysts from the Association "Berry Farming of Ukraine," writes UkrAgroConsult.
Ukraine has also managed to return the volumes of fresh currant exports to the levels of 2022, as European markets offer better prices than domestic ones.
Poland remains the main importer, accounting for over 90% of exports. It was also possible to restore exports to Moldova, which was previously one of the key partners in this category.
According to the association, in 2025 there is a gradual recovery of frozen currant exports. The volumes are still 40% lower than in 2022, while exports have doubled compared to 2023.
The main export destinations for frozen currants are:
Poland — 40%;
Germany — 15%;
France — 5%;
Austria — 5%;
Italy — 4%.
