In 2020, Ukraine saw a slight increase in the export of frozen berries, reaching 44.6 thousand tons, despite challenges in the fresh berry sector. The exports were primarily blueberries, other wild berries, and raspberries. There was a 16% decrease in frozen blueberry exports, but a significant increase in frozen raspberry exports, which doubled in value to $40 million. Poland was the main sales market for these products, with significant increases in supplies to Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. China also continued to be a key market. The Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA) is planning to provide more insights on the prospects for Ukrainian frozen berry exports in 2021 at a meeting on April 8-9.
