In 2023, Ukraine recorded its third largest sugar exports in history, with the European Union as the primary buyer. The leading exporters were Radekhiv-Sugar, Ukrprominvest-Agro, and Astarta. There was a significant increase in the acreage of sugar beets, which is the most profitable crop for Ukrainian farmers. The projected sugar production for the year is between 1.7 to 1.8 million tons, with a consumption of 1 million tons, suggesting that sugar exports will likely continue to be robust in the upcoming months.
