The Korea Forest Service (headed by Director Kim In-ho) announced on the 16th that the Uljin wildfire-damaged area forest ecosystem restoration case was selected as an exemplary case at the '2nd World Restoration Flagships' jointly organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The 'World Restoration Awards' is part of the 'Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030)' plan declared by the UN in 2019, aiming to expand participation in global restoration projects and strategies.
