Undermining of the Kakhovskaya HPP: the fishing industry of Ukraine lost UAH 9.8 billion.

The undermining of the Kakhovskaya HPP by the Russian occupiers caused losses to the fishing industry of Ukraine in the amount of UAH 9.8 billion. This was announced by the acting head of the State Agency of Ukraine for the Development of Reclamation, Fisheries and Food Programs Ihor Klymenok, writes Ukrinform. The head of the agency noted that the destruction of the dam was a real disaster for the Ukrainian fishing industry. Ihor Klymenok emphasized that the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP turned into a huge damage to the system of reclamation of Ukrainian lands. According to the expert, the Kakhov reservoir is the pearl of Ukraine's fisheries and the power source of Europe's largest irrigation system. It included 26 irrigation systems that supplied water to an area of 584,000 hectares. There are two state fish hatcheries located on this reservoir.
