In February 2024, a team from the CIMMYT Global Wheat Program embarked on a series of visits to National Agricultural Research Systems (NARS) partners across Pakistan, Nepal, and India. The purpose of these visits was to review ongoing wheat improvement programs, identify challenges, and discuss the integration of modern technologies and methods. Through meetings with NARS leaders and field visits to research stations, the initiative aimed to bolster collaborative efforts in wheat breeding to benefit farmers and consumers alike. The successful engagements prompted interest from the Bangladesh Wheat and Maize Research Institute (BWMRI) in similar collaborations, highlighting a regional enthusiasm for advancing wheat improvement partnerships.
