[Reporter Hong Lan, Korea Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] From December 1 to 15, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Korea Forest Service, the Rural Development Administration, and local governments, among other agricultural-related organizations, will jointly operate the "Nationwide Agricultural By-products Mass Destruction Week." This Destruction Week has been organized despite the unprecedented damage caused by the massive wildfire in the Yeongnam region last March, as illegal burning continues to result in repeated wildfires. The entire agricultural sector is cooperating to widely publicize the dangers of burning near forests and to encourage farmers to voluntarily destroy agricultural by-products. The Central Federation of Forest Cooperatives will also support the destruction of agricultural by-products and wildfire prevention in line with the Destruction Week.
