Until October, the production of cow's milk for direct consumption in Spain grew by 18.4%, while that of yogurt, cheese, and butter fell by 5%

According to dairy statistics managed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the production of cow's milk, in Spain until October, has grown by 1% from 6 million tons in 2019 to 6.2 today. Regarding the destination of this raw material, it should be noted that almost half is destined to the production of milk for direct consumption, which has seen these figures rise by 18.4% from the first ten months of 2019 to those of 2020 going from 2,590,900 tons to 2,962,800. Underline the 67% growth in Skimmed Milk Powder production, which grows from 12,000 tons in 2019 to 20,100 that are currently recorded in ministerial statistics. Cream is also rising strongly with a production of 145,200 tons compared to 108,200 in 2019, which represents an increase of 34%.
