The Union of Farmers and Ranchers, in a meeting of the Fruit Tree Insurance Working Group of the General Commission of the State Agricultural Insurance Entity (Enesa), has highlighted the deficiencies in agricultural insurance for fruit trees and criticized that Agroseguro has failed to comply with the commitment not to take into account the 2022 frosts when establishing benefit limits. The Union of Unions has also denounced that farmers in the sector are increasingly seeing their guaranteed capital reduced, which allows them to insure, while the cost of insurance is exaggeratedly increased, despite aid to cover part of the contracting cost. The organization insists that if these situations are not corrected, agricultural insurance will cease to be a useful tool for producers.
