Uruguay experienced a significant decline in its fresh beef exports in July, with a total of 26,324 tons, marking the lowest monthly export volume this year and the lowest July export volume since 2016. Only 10,054 tons of this total were exported to China, which used to account for over 70% of Uruguay's beef demand but now only makes up 38% due to increased exports to the United States and a decrease in demand from China. The average export value to the United States was almost $900 higher than to China. Additionally, there has been notable growth in Uruguay's beef exports to Russia, Israel, Japan, and Italy in the first seven months of the year.
