This visit is part of a recent achievement for Uruguay: the reopening of the Malaysian meat market, which had not imported Uruguayan meat for 14 years. After three years of public-private efforts, a new advancement in the region was achieved, with the inclusion of two Uruguayan slaughterhouses in the list of plants authorized to export beef to this destination: Frigorífico Las Moras (Chiadel S.A.) and Frigorífico Carrasco (Minerva). As part of the agenda, INAC participated, as it did in 2023, in the multisectoral halal fair MIHAS, an internationally relevant event that brings together countries from around the world, from trade delegations and government agencies to industry representatives and market leaders.
