The US Customs and Border Enforcement Administration has announced a Stop Customs Order (WRO) to detain cotton products from Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC) due to reasonable suspicion of forced labor. This is the 6th such order in the last 3 months by the US, aiming to restrict products from the Xinjiang region where human rights abuses against ethnic and religious minorities are alleged. XPCC, which produces about 30% of China's cotton, has been warned against by the US for its practices in the region. The order covers all cotton products produced by XPCC or its subsidiaries and affiliates.
