U.S. flour production is the lowest in 14 years

The production of flour in the United States presented a contraction in the last year, interrupting a punctual growth movement observed previously and leading the annual volume to the lowest level in more than a decade. The weaker performance was accompanied by a reduction in the pace over the quarters and by lower utilization of the installed capacity of the milling industry. Data released in early February by the statistical body of the United States Department of Agriculture indicate that flour production in 2025 totaled 419,231 million cwts, a drop of 3,964 million cwts, or 0.9%, compared to 2024. The result completely eliminated the advance recorded in the previous year and brought the annual total to the lowest level since 2011, when 411,745 million cwts were produced.
