On the 14th, when Yeo Han-gu, Director-General of the Trade Negotiation Bureau of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy leading negotiations with the United States, made remarks during a briefing on key outcomes of Korea-US trade negotiations that seemed to hint at additional agricultural market opening, the National Cattle Farmers Association immediately issued a statement and raised objections. This was due to Yeo Han-gu's statement during the trade negotiation briefing that "in all negotiations, there have been no trade negotiations without pain in the agricultural sector, but we have still strengthened industrial competitiveness" and that "in the agricultural sector, it is now time to make a strategic judgment, and while protecting sensitive areas, there are parts that must be considered within the overall negotiation framework."
