In the first quarter of 2021, US tea imports saw a 3.4% increase in volume and a 5.4% increase in value compared to the same period in 2020, totaling 25,500 tonnes valued at $110.4 million. Argentina emerged as the top supplier, contributing 40.5% of the total tea imports with a 13.8% increase in volume and value over the previous year. Vietnam witnessed a 12% rise in volume and a 15% rise in value, becoming the fourth largest supplier to the US. The US imported mainly black tea from Argentina and India, and green tea primarily from China.
