U.S. total broiler exports experienced a decline due to a decrease in shipments to China, but other markets like Hong Kong, UAE, Qatar, and Vietnam showed significant growth. The first four months of 2024 saw a decrease in broiler export volume by 11.1% to 1,107,334 metric tons and a decrease in export value by 4.8% to $1.483 billion. Mexico was the largest market, receiving 46.5% of the total shipment.
Chicken exports to Mexico saw a decrease of 43.4% and 15.6% from Brazil and Chile, respectively. There was a significant increase in shipments to Cuba, with a decrease in shipments to Taiwan and China. Other markets like Guatemala, Philippines, and Vietnam also showed growth.
Turkey exports also increased by 26.6% in the first four months of 2024, with Mexico being the largest market, receiving 75.8% of the total shipment. There was a decrease in exports to South Africa, Philippines, Singapore, and Jamaica, while there was an increase in exports to Japan, El Salvador, South Africa, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, and Costa Rica.
Total egg exports increased by 21.7% to 63.5 million dozen, but the value of those exports decreased by 21.9% to $95.5 million. Canada, Bahamas, Netherlands Antilles, Mexico, and Hong Kong were the top markets. There was a decrease in exports to the United Kingdom, Mexico, Taiwan, EU-27, Hong Kong, El Salvador, and Caymen Islands, while there was an increase in exports to the Bahamas, Peru, Turks and Caicos Islands, Barbados, and Micronesia.
Egg product exports also saw a decrease of 12.5% in volume and a decrease of 5.3% in export value. Japan, EU-27, Mexico, Canada, South Korea, and Australia were the top markets. There was a significant increase in exports to the Central Africa Republic, Philippines, Panama, and the United Arab Emirates, while there was a decrease in exports to EU-27, Mexico, Bahamas, Kuwait, and the Netherland
