USA: Pork Meat Exports in April Fall Below Previous Year's Levels

U.S. pork exports totaled 237,250 tons in April, a 15% drop compared to the same month last year, marking the lowest volume in 10 months. Export value fell 13%, to US$ 675.3 million. Exports to China declined 35% year-on-year. There were also declines in exports to key markets — Mexico, Japan, and Canada. On the other hand, April was again an excellent month for exports to Colombia and Central American markets, which continue at a record pace. From January to April, pork exports were 5% below the record pace of 2024, with 991,738 tons, while value dropped 4%, to US$ 2.78 billion. Exports to the primary market, Mexico, totaled 91,441 tons in April, 15% below the record registered a year ago. The value was US$ 197.8 million, a 18% drop compared to April 2024's record.
