The USDA has reduced its projection for global sugar production in the 2023/24 season to 183.461 million tons, an increase of 4.65% compared to the previous season. Global sugar demand is forecasted to reach 178.431 million tons in 2023/24, resulting in a supply surplus of 5.03 million tons. This downward revision is due to higher-than-expected production growth in Brazil and India, offsetting declines in Thailand and Pakistan's harvests.
