This 2025, with the application of biol, the production of camu camu in floodable areas of Loreto and Ucayali will reach 9 tons per hectare. According to the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute (IIAP), these figures will directly benefit 400 local inhabitants. This increase represents a 50% rise compared to the results obtained in 2022, the year in which the productivity of this Amazonian fruit tripled. The use of biol and other innovative techniques are part of the Agroforestry System Renewal for Food Security project, which promotes sustainable agricultural practices adapted to the conditions of the Amazon. Biol has established itself as a sustainable alternative to chemical fertilizers. It is made with manure, cane honey, ash, yeast, and other accessible inputs, and does not contaminate water bodies nor affect species such as fish and bees.
