Used tires are commonly utilized by farmers to weigh down silage clamps, but they are also subject to strict waste regulations. The agricultural self-government is calling for relief for farms in this regard. The topic of used tires used on farms resurfaces from time to time, as it poses problems for farmers. Now, the Management Board of the National Council of Agricultural Chambers (KRIR) has appealed to the authorities to introduce a change in the Waste Act. The aim is for farmers not to need a permit for waste processing when using tires to weigh down silage clamps. "The Waste Act requires a permit for the collection or processing of waste, which includes used tires, however, Article 45(3) states that the relevant minister for the economy, in consultation with the minister responsible for climate, will determine by regulation the types and quantities of waste that may be exempt (in this regard - ed.)" indicates KRIR.
