Uzbekistan increases onion exports

Uzbek onion exports boomed in December as exporters of the product became more active in supplying foreign markets, EastFruit reports. According to logistics service providers, the demand for transportation for the export of onions from Uzbekistan increased severalfold in the last ten days of November and the first ten days of December compared to the average level of the first twenty days of November and the entire month of October. Based on vehicle requests, Latvia is the main destination for shipments of Uzbek onions, accounting for about a third of the total transport requests. Poland is the second largest market, followed by Russia, Belarus and Georgia. There are also occasional transport requests to transport onions from Uzbekistan to Greece, Spain, Norway and Romania.
